Jewelry Designs

Rick Terry Jewelry Designs has been Knoxville, Tennessee’s finest jeweler since 1986. Our beautiful jewelry, unique designs, and quality craftsmanship lie at the heart of our family-owned and operated business. We take pride in each creation, each finished product, and every customer interaction, all with the hopes of being the last jeweler you’ll ever need — hence our motto:

We want to be your jeweler.”

We make it special, we make it unique, we make it just for you. With 30+ years of experience creating, designing, repairing, and selling fine jewelry, master jeweler Rick Terry and his team are dedicated to crafting the one-of-a-kind jewelry of your dreams, as well as repairing your favorite jewelry and timepieces — all while achieving the highest levels of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. To make this possible, we only work with the finest quality gold and gemstones, and all designs and repairs are done in-house, by our Knoxville, Tennessee-based team.

Rick Terry, as well as many other fine jewelry designers and vendors, can now be found in one of their three retail locations (downtown Knoxville, Farragut, and Lenoir City).

Rick & team did a great job resetting my sapphire engagement ring after the stone fell out. He went to great lengths to fix another jewelers shoddy work to make sure the ring was perfect. Thanks again for being so easy to work with and having my ring done so quickly!

I was visiting Knoxville from Denmark when my baby daughter ripped my gold necklace off my neck. I stopped by on my way home and walked in to see if maybe they could help me. They weren't even open yet (whoops!), but happily took my necklace and fixed it for no charge. It took about 3 minutes total. They were so friendly and helpful and made my necklace whole again. I would come here for all my jewelry after that experience. So wonderful, and a good welcome back to the friendly south from our home in Europe.

14 years later my ring is still beautiful and the service is always wonderful. Thanks so much for the many years of great service!

We both want to thank you SO much for the stunning ring you created for our wedding. It's not traditional, but it is totally Brooke. You were patient and kind and made this sentimental ring something that I never expected and can't take my eyes off of. You worked with our requirements and while giving sound advice never once made us feel like it was not reasonable or could not be done. You did it better than I could have ever imagined. You worked with stones that are not ideal, timing that could have been better and with two people new at this marriage thing, you made us both comfortable. THANK YOU!

Did a fabulous job on a reset. Blown away by the outcome. Just stunning.

Meet Rick Terry

With over 30 years behind the showcases and at the bench — repairing, creating, and designing jewelry — Rick is now a master craftsman/artisan and owner of Rick Terry Jewelry Designs. He has operated a retail jewelry store in both Knoxville and Loudon County for over 25 years, selling only the finest diamonds and gemstones set in platinum, gold, and silver.
Shortly before opening Rick Terry Jewelry Designs in 1986, Rick Terry and his father opened their first Knoxville-based jewelry store, The Goldmaster. After setting out as a jewelry designer and business by his own name, Rick Terry quickly became known in the community as “The Jeweler,” thanks to warm and fuzzy radio commercials that told stories about creating family heirloom jewelry for various customers throughout the years. Thus began the slogan, “I want to to be your jeweler.” Years later, the Terry family became third-generation jewelers when Rick’s two sons, Blake and Matthew, joined the family jewelry business. With the inclusion of his two sons, Rick now has what he describes as the “A Team” working alongside him, and because of that, upgraded his slogan to the collective effort that is: “We want to be your jeweler.”

Rick, born in Louisiana, moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1973. His teen years were spent working at the family owned motorcycle business “Suzuki by Terry”. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1977 and a few years later married his high school sweetheart Patty Ogle. In 1981, a chance to train as a jeweler was presented to Rick, one which he accepted, and he and Patty packed up and moved back to Louisiana. This opportunity began Rick’s career in the jewelry industry and enabled him to eventually move Knoxville and open his first jewelry store, The Goldmaster, with his father.

Rick is very involved with numerous non-profit, civic and charitable organizations such as Susan G. Komen of Knoxville, West Knox Chamber of Commerce, Loudon County Chamber of Commerce, Loudon County Visitors Board for Tourism, and more.

Laura joined the Rick Terry Team in November 2015 having 12 years of experience in the jewelry industry. She was born and raised in Knoxville where she graduated from West High School. Afterwards, Laura attended Pellissippi State earning an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts then continuing on, earning a Bachelors degree from Tusculum College in Business and Organizational Management. She eventually turned her love of jewelry into a career and earned a Jewelry Essentials certificate as well as Accredited Jewelry Professional, both from G.I.A. Her favorite pieces are bezel set styles with European cut diamonds from the Edwardian and Art Deco eras. “I enjoy talking with people to find out what style of jewelry suits them, as well as having them think outside the box and re-purpose jewelry in a way they may not have considered”.<br /> Laura lives in West Knoxville with her husband Alan and Einstein, their mini schnauzer.
