Necklace Repair & Bracelet Repair
Our master jewelers inspect and repair broken chains, pendants and charms – or replace worn out clasps and closures. We quickly refurbish your necklaces, bracelets and jewelry chains to look new again.
Pearl Restringing
With time and normal wear, the chords of pearl necklaces and pearl bracelets become brittle and susceptible to breakage. Our experts will be able to prolong the life of your pearls by restringing and inspecting the clasps.
Laser Welding
Laser welders can be used to fill porosity, re-tip platinum or gold prong settings, repair bezel settings, repair/resize rings and bracelets without removing stones and correct manufacturing defects. Laser welding reconfigures the molecular structure of either similar or dissimilar metals at the point of welding, allowing the two common alloys to become one.
Manufacturing retail jewelers currently using laser welders are often amazed at the wide range of applications and ability to produce a higher quality product in less time with fewer materials while eliminating excessive heat effects.
One of the key elements in making laser welding applicable to jewelry manufacturing and repair was the development of the “free-moving” concept. In this approach, the laser generates a stationary infrared light pulse which is targeted through the microscope’s cross-hair. The laser pulse can be controlled in size and intensity. Because the heat generated remains localized, operators can handle or fixture items with their fingers, welding small areas with pin-point accuracy without causing any harm to the operator’s fingers or hands. This free-moving concept enables users to eliminate costly fixturing devices and increase the range of assembly and repair applications.
Watch Repair
Just like fine jewelry your precision timepieces also require very specific care and maintenance. They are delicate instruments that must be maintained to continue to perform properly and accurately to ensure you get the most from them
In order to preserve its appearance and optimal performance, your watch requires expert periodic maintenance. Just as in a car, every product that contains a mechanism requires a full service after a certain amount of time. We cannot give an exact recommendation for the frequency of maintenance because this depends on the model, the climate, and the way an owner uses the watch.
A fine watch will last for generations with routine maintenance, including lubrication and thorough cleaning. Watch manufacturers suggest that watches be cleaned, oiled & serviced every three to five years to ensure that the components are properly lubricated and that the mechanism is free from dust, dirt and moisture.
When a mechanical watch begins to function irregularly (gaining time, losing time or stopping) it is a sign that the timepiece needs maintenance and the attention of a professional horologist. Over time, the lubrication protecting the gears and wheels of a watch will begin to dry. In addition, Water resistant watches have seals and gaskets which will begin to dry and wear, allowing moisture to enter causing the movement to rust and the dial and hands to discolor.
When a Quartz watch stops, it is usually blamed on the battery. However, quartz watches also have wheels, gears, along with electronic components that may need to be replaced.
There are also many minor repairs that need to be done, such as crystal replacement, crown replacement, pins, dial changes and case or bracelet adjustments.
As a general rule, quartz and a mechanical or electro-mechanical watch should be given a full service approximately every 3-6 years.
This will ensure that:
- The watch is correctly water-resistant
- The movement is performing perfectly
